Abigail Jones

Abigail Jones is a part of the UC San Diego Laboratory for Comparative Cognition, where she engages in research of distributed cognition, informal learning, and collaborative healing. Her work here began with the creation of a children’s yoga curriculum for a Southeast San Diego community. With Dr. Angela Booker, the work is now transitioning to include emotional awareness, self regulation, improvisational comedy theater, and digital media as a means to capture, analyze, and disperse co-created stories to improve social mobility and access to public services. She pairs this research experience with extensive studies in Mindfulness. In addition to her initial 200 hr. training, she has an additional 200 hours of continuing education credits in a variety of topics, with special interests in Anatomy and Breathing Therapeutics and Mindfulness Facilitation. She specializes in designing interactive embodied learning experiences for organizational team growth in conjunction with Ziksana Consulting, who has previous clients such as Qualcomm, TEDx San Diego, Hilton, and the City of San Diego Water Department. Abbey frequently facilitates her curriculum of Mindful Games and Poetry in Motion curriculum at learning conferences and leadership programs.
